Madison-area journalists raise $900 to support UW student internships

MADISON — Madison-area journalists and their supporters last week raised $850 to support student journalists at UW-Madison. The fundraising took place at the annual holiday party organized by the Madison chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in conjunction with the Capitol press corps. The SPJ Madison Pro Chapter will add an additional $50 to bring the total to $900.

Proceeds from the raffle will go to an annual fund at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication to support students interested in journalism with unpaid – or underpaid – internships and the chapter thanks all those who participated.
